Happy December! I can’t believe that Christmas is a week away! Has the month of December flown by for anyone else? Reese’s Book Club pick for the month is The Chicken Sisters, so let’s get into the review! Title: The Chicken Sisters Author: KJ Dell’Antonia My Rating: In tiny Merinac, Kansas, Chicken Mimi’s and Chicken Frannie’s have spent a century vying to serve up the best fried chicken in the state–and the legendary feud between their respective owners, the Moores and the Pogociellos, has lasted just as long. No one feels the impact more than thirty-five-year-old widow Amanda Moore, who grew up working for her mom at Mimi’s before scandalously…

Group by Christie Tate Book Review

Nonfiction November is here, and I was happy to find that Reese’s Book Club pick for this month was a nonfiction book! If I’m being completely honest, nonfiction is very hit or miss with me. Have you been reading along with Reese this year? Let me know in the comments which book has been your favorite so far! The Last Story of Mina Lee probably isn’t my favorite, but I’m so glad I read it. This story is incredibly powerful! Title: The Last Story of Mina Lee Author: Nancy Jooyoun Kim My Rating: Margot Lee’s mother, Mina, isn’t returning her calls. It’s a mystery to twenty-six-year-old Margot, until she visits her childhood apartment in Koreatown, LA, and…

    Big Little Lies Book Review

Watching the Big Little Lies TV series is the reason I fell in love with Liane Moriarty’s books. I’ve read several of her books now, but I held off reading this one because I needed some distance from the story after binge-watching the series. I already knew that I would love this book, and it even exceeded my expectations! Title: Big Little Lies Author: Liane Moriarty My Rating: My Review: I absolutely loved that the Big Little Lies book was slightly different than the TV series. Normally, I would want an exact replica, but I really appreciated experiencing this book separately from the series. One of my favorite aspects of…
